WELCA is an acronym for Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Our group is part of a much larger organization that includes Lutheran women who gather for service, study, advocacy, fellowship and more. All women are invited and encouraged to participate. We do more together than we ever could alone. As a group, we are very involved and do much for St. Peter and our community. Our service and activities include: Valentines to military, college and home-bound, monthly quilting day, Funeral Committee (volunteers to serve lunch after funerals-really appreciate the men who volunteer too!), Flower Committee (coordinates Easter flowers and a schedule for maintaining the flower beds in the summer months), service as Church Librarian, Prayer Chain activation, Altar Guild, kitchen watch, Rachel’s Day, and Thank Offerings. Please refer to the Women of the ELCA Booklet for a listing of events and meetings. Announcements are also included in the Monthly Messenger and weekly bulletin.
